"A professional performance. It is a good result, certainly. We played the game exactly as we discussed on Tuesday, though I suspect the rain helped us more than it did them. Aigburth are a decent side, but they seemed a bit preoccupied with the mud.

Three goals is a tidy return. We looked composed, mostly. There was a moment in the second half where we looked like we might forget how to pass a ball, but we recovered. It is a bit of a relief, really. I spent most of the afternoon worrying about the state of the tea lady's kettle in the dressing room, so the win is a bonus.
