Marlborough United 3–0 Llandaff: leaders pull away
Marlborough United moved to 59 points on Tuesday 25 August after a 3-0 win over Llandaff Athletic. It was a comfortable afternoon for the leaders. Stepney FC remain in second on 54 points following a 1-0 victory against Jesmond AFC. Wellsford Athletic sit third with 52 points, having taken a 2-0 win at Edgbaston FC.
Sussex Athletic played out a 1-1 draw with Hitchin Athletic. The result was notable for Mateusz Kowalski, who found the net for the fifth time this term. It is a significant milestone for the man (provided he manages a sixth).
Elsewhere, Mancunia FC took a 2-1 win at Wigston FC. Pendle Athletic managed a 1-0 victory at Kirkby FC. Brixton AFC beat Acton United 2-1, while Aigburth FC saw off Beeston AFC by the same scoreline.
There were two draws that offered very little in the way of excitement. Wednesbury Athletic and Heaton AFC finished 1-1. Wessex United and Crookes United ended 2-2.
Arthur Fortesque continues to lead the goalscoring charts with 12 goals. He has a slight advantage over the rest of the field. Typical really, that the struggle continues for those at the bottom of the table.
