Look, I reckon I sat down to watch Marlborough United expecting another draw. Their entire recent personality has been settling for a point, and Llandaff had already taken one off them previously, a 0–0 that presumably felt like a victory for both sides. That idea lasted six minutes.

Kweku Mosibudi converted a penalty that early and the whole script changed. A side that had forgotten how to win suddenly remembered the basics. Six minutes in, a spot kick, no drama. That was the moment the drawing streak quietly died.

Henri Baudouin made it 2–0 on 19 minutes, Myrddin Bevan providing the assist. Baudouin has a taste for drama this month, though of the wrong sort: sent off after 34 minutes against Sussex a week ago. Venancio Azaña added the third on 78 minutes, purely for the scoreline's dignity. Marlborough stay top on 59 points; Llandaff stay 13th and look suspiciously like a side already in holiday mode, and the season is very much still breathing down their necks.

Honestly, that is the thing about this league. The calendar doesn't care. Tomorrow brings another matchday, and the trick for Marlborough is proving this wasn't a one-off escape from their own generosity on a Tuesday night.
