We were not exactly playing the beautiful game, but we were efficient enough. The boys showed a bit of grit, and the scoreline reflects that. I noticed the Aigburth keeper had a very peculiar way of holding his water bottle, which was a distraction for me personally, but the players stayed focused. We managed to keep the ball just long enough to get the goals we needed. It feels good to get the three points, even if the manner of it was a bit scrappy. We cannot spend too much time celebrating, though. There is another match tomorrow and we have very little time to reset. We will go back to the hotel, have a quiet meal, and try to remember how to pass the ball in the same direction. It is a start."
