Marlborough United 1–0 Wellsford: leaders by a whisker

Wednesday 19 August provided the usual mixture of competence and collapse. Anacleto Bovo reached five goals for the season during Wigston FC's 2-3 defeat to Edgbaston FC. It is a tidy milestone for the forward, though it occurred in a match where his side could not quite hold a lead (typical really).

Marlborough United now sit at the summit with 47 points, following a 1-0 win over Wellsford Athletic. Brixton AFC occupy second on 45 points, having suffered a 1-2 loss to Hitchin Athletic. Heaton AFC move into third with 42 points after a 1-0 victory against Crookes United.

Mancunia FC enjoyed the most relaxed afternoon of the day, recording a 2-0 win at Wessex United. Other results were more tentative. Llandaff Athletic and Acton United finished 1-1, as did Aigburth FC and Kirkby FC. Jesmond AFC and Beeston AFC also ended 1-1.

Elsewhere, Wednesbury Athletic took a 2-1 win over Pendle Athletic, while Sussex Athletic managed a 1-0 victory at Stepney FC.

Arthur Fortesque remains the leading scorer with 11 goals. We go again.
