Brixton AFC 2–1 Wednesbury: a slim lead
Quentin Egremont reached five goals for the season during Heaton AFC's 2-2 draw at Pendle Athletic on Friday 14 August. It is a respectable tally (allegedly).
Brixton AFC moved to the top of the table with 38 points after a 2-1 win over Wednesbury Athletic. Marlborough United sit in second on 36 points, having travelled to Hitchin Athletic and won 4-2. It was a reasonably tidy performance, despite a few lapses in concentration. Mancunia FC remain third with 34 points after a scoreless draw against Jesmond AFC.
The rest of the day was largely a collection of shared points. Beeston AFC and Wellsford Athletic played out a 2-2 draw, while Llandaff Athletic managed a similar result at Kirkby FC. Aigburth FC and Wessex United finished 1-1, as did Sussex Athletic and Crookes United.
Wigston FC secured the only win of the day that didn't involve scoring twice, taking a 1-0 victory at Acton United. Edgbaston FC also picked up three points, beating Stepney FC 2-1.
Linus Bickerton continues to lead the golden boot race with seven goals.
Typical really, there is no room for a nap before the next matchday tomorrow. Brixton AFC will look to protect their lead at the summit.
