Wessex United 1–2 Llandaff Athletic: derby rights claimed

Llandaff Athletic claimed the bragging rights on Sunday 9 August with a 2-1 victory over Wessex United. It was a contest of moderate intensity (mostly involving a lot of shouting at the referee) that ended with Wessex staring at a defeat in a match they allegedly felt they could control.

The rest of the day was largely a series of draws. Wigston FC and Stepney FC managed a scoreless finish, while Mancunia FC and Wellsford Athletic mirrored the result. Pendle Athletic and Sussex Athletic shared the spoils at 1-1, as did Kirkby FC and Acton United. Edgbaston FC and Crookes United also settled for a point each, and Wednesbury Athletic survived a 2-2 scrap with Marlborough United.

Brixton AFC took a 1-0 win over Heaton AFC, a result that keeps them locked at the summit. They sit on 27 points, equal with Jesmond AFC, though Jesmond had a less productive afternoon, falling 2-0 to Aigburth FC. Marlborough United remain in third on 26 points.

Hitchin Athletic provided the most decisive performance of the day, comfortably dispatching Beeston AFC 3-0. In terms of individual honours, Arthur Fortesque continues to lead the golden boot race with seven goals.
