Beeston AFC steady after tight win
"We'll take it. A 2-1 win is a win, regardless of how many times my heart stopped in the final ten minutes.
The lads showed a bit of grit, which is more than I can say for the state of my tie. We didn't exactly play the breathtaking football of the seventies, but we got the job done. It's the kind of result that keeps you in the game without making you feel too smug. I saw Sussex Athletic managed a clean sheet elsewhere, which is lovely for them, but we'll settle for the three points and a slightly less stressful trip to the car park. There's no time to celebrate with a fancy dinner, really. We have another matchday tomorrow, so we'll have a quick look at the tape, forget the panic, and get back to work. Just another day at the office, only with more shouting."
