"It's a win. That is the main thing, really. We managed to keep it tight and the goal stayed where it needed to. I think the boys are pleased, though a few of them looked like they'd seen a ghost when Mancunia had that one chance in the first half. Our centre-half spent most of the afternoon apologising to the grass, but we got the result.
It is a professional performance. Not exactly a masterpiece, but we will take a 1-0 win any day of the week. I saw a few people in the stands looking relieved, which is fair. We have a tendency to make things difficult for ourselves. We will enjoy this for an hour or two, then we have to reset for tomorrow. There is very little time to dwell on the aesthetics when you have another game in twenty-four hours. We just keep moving."
