In fairness, Cariri-Filho is an exceptional individual, but a 2–0 lead this early often invites the kind of complacency that transforms a professional outing into a struggle.

The collapse was efficient. Wilson Arden-Hughes pulled one back in the 32nd minute, and just four minutes later, Maksut Hazinedar levelled with a header. It was a four-minute window that completely flipped the momentum, leaving Jesmond to spend the interval wondering where their composure had gone.
