Heaton AFC survived a late collapse to defeat Beeston AFC 4–3 on Thursday 30 July 2026. It was a result that preserves the narrow gap between fourth and fifth, though it provided a texture of desperation that the early scoreline had completely obscured.

The first half belonged entirely to Wilson Astbury, who seems to have developed a personal vendetta against the Beeston goal. After a scoreless opening, Astbury broke the deadlock in the 33rd minute via Macsen Conway-Hughes, then added a second in the 39th through Belisario Castelnuovo. The efficiency was clinical, almost rude, and culminated in a Sjaak Bisschop header in the 45th minute (Bisschop has now found the net in three of his last four outings, a statistical quirk that suggests he is currently operating on a different plane of existence than the rest of the league) to ensure Heaton went into the break with a comfortable 3–0 lead.
